Hall of Fame re-opens
Updated: Sep 4
Thank you OTF for your support and the Resilient Communities Fund. We are thrilled to be re-opening the Sports Hall of Fame in safe stages.

Mississauga Sports Council (MSC) - thanks OTF for their ongoing support!
In 1975, the first inductees were recognized as honoured members of the Sports Hall of Fame. Fast forward into the 21st century, and with support from the City, Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) and community, the Sports Hall of Fame made its home at the Sports Complex. With funding from OTF, MSC engaged our community and visitors through exhibits, like Volunteer & Black History Month, showcasing our Olympians; and celebrations, like Sports Day in Canada. As programs and services evolved, MSC hosted school days sharing our Hof stories with school students and getting them active in the gyms and sports fields.

Then the pandemic - in March 2020, our community and the world were devastated by Covid-19. Without knowing what the future held, MSC closed the Hall of Fame and our world went into multiple lock-downs and years of tragedy and angst. The recovery continues.
With the support of OTF and the government of Ontario, MSC is the recipient of their Resilient Communities Fund. A focus on Strategic Planning and Volunteer Engagement has led to the re-opening of the Hall of Fame in a safe and scaled way to ensure the health and wellness of all involved.
We'll be re-opening in stages that follow medical / government guidelines. You're welcome to join us at the Hall of Fame - concourse level - PFFC.

"We would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Government of Ontario for their support through our Resilient Communities Fund project." Jim Holmes, President, MSC
